Be Mine. All Mine.

I'm at the risk of social suicide here by saying this, but oh well: I LOVE VALENTINES DAY. I know it may be cool to hate on this holiday of love, I can't help it. I'm a sucker for the sweetness of it. (Plus, I'm tacky and my love for glitter & hearts knows no end.)

So while it may sit me in the bleachers of socially unwelcome alongside the socks + sandal wearers, the people who talk on their cell phones while on public transportation and the morons from work that offer to come in on the weekends and simultaneously making everyone else look terrible- I'm fine with it. Totally worth it.

A whole day for love? And since fate somehow landed that I never actually had, or was with, a boyfriend when Valentines Day came around until the first year I was married- I actually don't associate Valentines Day with romance- just being sweet to people you love and eating good candy.

So here are some non-romantic ways to treat the people you love... and your lady self.

First, show your love to your friends. After all, the good ones are kind of like soul mates anyways. If they're the good kinds, they'll love you through your unlovable times and you owe them a token of appreciation every now and then.

Buy something for yourself. Something cute, slightly indulgent and fun. (Especially, if its the Clarisonic because it is a game changer to your skin.)

And don't forget to celebrate the one day a year when red + pink are allowed to be happy together without judgement. Dress up in bright colors, wear a little sparkle without feeling silly and revel in some feminine gushiness. It's fun. I promise.

So... your thoughts: Valentines Day. Love it or Love to ignore it?
